Zipp Mills Welcome Back Potluck
We're thrilled to invite all families to the first annual Zipp Mills Welcome Back Family Potluck on September 11 at 6 pm! This exciting new tradition brings our community together for a fantastic gathering where every family is encouraged to bring a dish to share (think 10 to 15 servings).
It's an excellent opportunity to enjoy delicious homemade food and connect with other families in our school community. We welcome everyone to bring their favorite homemade dish, whether it's a savory main course, a tasty side, or a delectable dessert. If cooking isn't your thing, feel free to sign up to bring store-bought goodies, drinks, or paper products to enhance the event.
Join us in celebrating the diverse culinary talents within our community as we kick off this new tradition. We can't wait to see you for an evening filled with great food, fantastic company, and warm conversation. Let's make this first Zipp Mills Potluck an unforgettable occasion filled with laughter and togetherness!

Character Parade
Oct 24
Big Yard
Join us for the beloved PS 261 Character Parade on October 25th at 9:14 am! The Character Parade celebrates book characters, so children and teachers dress up as their favorite literary characters. Some classes will choose themes, so please check with the teachers for details. This is a classic walk-around-the-block situation. The kids are adorable, and the parents take lots of pics. This event was brought to our school by parents like you and continues with the love and support of our staff. We are always looking for musical support from the community. If you have rhythm and love joyful things, consider joining the 261 Character Parade rhythm circle! Do you have a drum or percussion instrument handy? Then bring it along! If not, we will provide one for you. Every year, we gather on the turf in the schoolyard and create the background beat for this groovy parade.
Email hweston@schools.nyc.gov if interested, and say YES! Let's continue this fun PS 261 tradition together!
