Overview

  • PS 261 is a public elementary school serving students in grades 3K-5.

  • 3K and PreK are available only to families within the school zone.

3K - 2 classes, 15 students per class (15 Max)

PreK - 2 classes, 18 students per class (18 Max)

Kindergarten - 4 classes, with 20-22 students per class (25 Max)

1st Grade - 3 classes, with 18-20 students per class (32 Max)

2nd Grade - 3 classes, with 22-23 students per class (32 Max)

3rd Grade - 4 classes, with 19-22 students per class (32 Max)

4th Grade - 3 classes, with 19-22 students per class (32 Max)

5th Grade - 3 classes, with 21-24 students per class (32 Max)

If PS 261 is your zoned school for grades 1st through 5th, contact pupil secretary Osdilia Caban at ocaban@schools.nyc.gov to register. Visit the NYCPS website under the enrollment tab for general information on enrolling in NYC Public Schools.

Priority for Admission

PS 261 prioritizes applicants eligible for Free or Reduced-Price Lunch (based on family income), those living in temporary housing, English Language Learners, and public housing residents for 30% of available seats.
