February is Black History Month. All month long, we'll be celebrating Black history, culture, and excellence across our classrooms and community. Look for special read-alouds, art projects, and resources to help families join in at home. While February gives us an exceptional opportunity to highlight and celebrate Black history and excellence, we know that Black history is woven into every day at PS 261. Our commitment to learning, honoring, and uplifting Black voices and achievements happens year-round—not just this month.

Love books? Join our Book Committee to help plan reading events and bring new stories to our students. Volunteers are always appreciated, whether you're a lifelong reader or just love sharing stories with kids! We have some exciting events on the horizon, including our Break Read-a-thon during Mid-Winter Recess (February 16–20) and Comic Con on May 21. Help us make these literacy celebrations unforgettable!
