Registration

For Pre-K and Kindergarten, please visit the DOE’s website for information on applying to NYC public schools.

261 currently has 36 pre-k students in two pre-k classes. The majority of Pre-K seats will go to zoned siblings. Zoned families who apply will be automatically added to the waitlist. On average, we offer 5 to 6 seats from the PK waitlist to NEW ZONED FAMILIES ONLY.

105 kindergarten students in five kindergarten classes.

PS 261 gives priority to applicants eligible for Free or Reduced Price Lunch (based on family income), live in temporary housing, are English Language Learners, and live in public housing for 30% of seats.
