Meet our new Librarian!
Vanessa Nutter, Librarian [email protected]
Vanessa Nutter has been a school librarian for five years and is eager to learn and grow as a librarian at PS261. She is passionate about learning and access to information for all ages as a form of social justice and as a core democratic value. She believes that a love a reading develops critical thinking skills and a capacity for empathy. She strives to foster a love a reading and learning by encouraging curiosity and exploration. To her, the library serves as a hub for the entire school community and welcomes PS261 families and staff along with their students to share and explore together. Vanessa fostered her own sense of wonder by studying Visual and Cultural Studies at The New School University, NY (BA) and Library & Information Science at San Jose State University, CA (MLIS). Her continued pursuits include more studying – education policy at CUNY, reading fantasy fiction, and supporting the Arts in their many manifestations.
